Climate Smart Utilities: extended deadline to join the recognition programme
There is still time for utilities to apply for the IWA Climate Smart Utilities Recognition Programme. The extended deadline is 17 July 2022.
The initiative aims to inspire water, wastewater, and urban drainage utilities to be increasingly Climate Smart and to embrace the cultural shift on three interconnected pillars for action: climate adaptation, mitigation, and leadership. Do not miss this chance to showcase climate action within the water sector! Applications for the recognition programme are closing soon on 17 July 2022, utilities are invited to submit an application before then.
All compliant applications will be celebrated at the IWA World Water Congress & Exhibition in Copenhagen, Denmark (11-15 September 2022), where utilities will be invited to share their successes and experiences. More details about the recognition event at the Congress will soon be available on the WWCE website. A travel grant is also available to support promising utilities in emerging economies.
Applying is easy. All you need to do is submit a 3-page max. narrative describing your utility’s climate actions around adaptation, mitigation and leadership (advocacy) measures. You can support your narrative by (optionally) including any number of indicators and project documents as annexes.
You can apply through the online application form, or by email using this offline application form and sending it to carlos.diaz@iwahq.org by 17 July.
